Some people are tend to build houses from the basics, others tend to buy ready-made, but there are people who want to restore something historical, combining it with modern design and comfort. With this goal, the team of architects from Studio Farris company decided to rebuild an old farm in Belgium and to give it a second breath.
Main task was not only create a comfortable family’s summer house, but also make it more energy efficient, reducing its maintenance costs. Was restored an old fireplace, changed wall construction with large windows, thus way allowing more daylight to get into the rooms that warms a house. Was practically rebuilt the inside of home on the principle of box-in-box. Its purpose is to protect the people living in a variety of chemical reactions that occur in the soil as well as from the wall sulphate.
Must admit that project is managed really attractive with a contemporary twist. And what about beautiful sights all around the house witch can be seen through the glazed walls! Beautiful!
