This unusual project is located in Latvia, in the quiet center Kipsala that location is only half a kilometer of Riga’s old town. Kipsala is an Island and therefore Luxury complex sits on the left bank of the Daugava river.
In 20th century there was a plaster mill, which in later years became the plaster and cement factories. In 2002 began first reconstruction phase of Gypsum Factory, where only a selection of the buildings where reconstructed by keeping the historical essence of old Gypsum Factory. First phase was completed in year 2004. Now in phase 2 is being reconstructed the rest of the buildings on the left bank of the Daugava.
The interior of Gypsum Factory is awesome: there is used black and white bricks, all rooms perfectly compatible with house exterior. As you can see in the photos, apartment is very spacious with high ceilings and large windows that brings in a lot of day light, while allowing view sights of the Old Town and harbor vessels. As well as a great privilege to boat-owners-next to the building has a private boat dock, that is an integral part of this charming luxury complex. Project Architect and Design Author: Zaiga Gaile.
